I don't know if it's the right place to talk about this, but I've been recently re-reading all the "Tintin" (I love comic strip books, especially the Franco-Belgian school) after a conversation with @Elektra and I realised that 8 of the 24 albums have at least a sneeze in it, if not much (and, for one, lots and lots of sneezes). I wondered if anyone had noticed (I don't really know if Tintin is famous; in France, of course it is, but elsewhere..?!?). Just in case it interests anyone:
- Tintin in the land of the Soviets : 1 sneeze (I can be mistaken, maybe there are some more, it's the only Tintin I do not possess)
- The blue Lotus : 1 sneeze
- King Ottokar's sceptre : 2 sneezes
- Prisoners of the sun : 1 sneeze
- Land of black gold : 25 sneezes (and a hold back) !!!!!
- Tintin in Tibet : 3 sneezes
- Flight 714 to Sydney : 8 sneezes (and a build-up)
- Tintin and Alph-Art : unfortunataly unfinished (Hergé died before), but a sneezing fit was planned and 2 sneezes were written in the first draft.
I know that sneezing is a very casual bodily function for most people, and that it's sometimes incorporated into "normal" writing, but... is it not a bit too much?
I do not dare to include images, because I don't know what's allowed (and I know that Hergé's heirs are very fastidious about Tintin's images )... But if anyone's interested, just PM me.
